Butte Roughriders have withdrawn from NorPac

It has been decided by the NorPac Board of Governors that the Butte Roughriders Tier 3 Junior A is to have the team withdraw from the league.

  Due to injuries and players leaving the team for other leagues before November 1st, 2011, Butte has been unable to field minimum players required team this season.

It is unfortunate that the season had to end this way.  Owner Gary Kline said "it has been a good and long 9 year long run in the NorPac.  With the changing conditions for Junior Hockey, picking up players mid season is difficult.  Injuries impacted us substantially.  without the injuries we could have been a playoff contender."

At this point all players have been disbursed or picked up by other teams around Junior Hockey community.  NorPac and Western States picked up alll the players excpet for the injured players that chose to go home before the dispersal draft.

The Butte Roughriders would like to thank all the past housing/billet families, Butte Community Ice Center, Butte Amateur Hockey Association, all the game day staff, and former Roughrider parents and players.
